Beep secures $3 million in funding for affordable housing
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams on Thursday, August 20 unveiled over $3 million in Fiscal Year 2016 funding to organizations that help strengthen affordable housing across the borough.
“Recent data has shown that Brooklyn is now the most unaffordable place in the United States to buy a home,” said Adams outside of 442 Logan Street, an affordable housing development in East New York owned and managed by Mutual Housing Association of New York, Inc. (MHANY).
MHANY, he said, will receive part of a $500,000 allocation in funding for needed renovations to 77 total units, as well as another $250,000 to construct new affordable housing in Crown Heights and East New York, among other donations to separate organizations.
