Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 237th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1929, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled, “Nine Makes of Lipstick Contain Benzol, Highly Dangerous, Wynne Finds.”

The article focused on the potential dangers of lipstick.

“’Vanity in this day and age,’ said Dr. Wynne, ‘is openly exploited, and is impossible to combat until we obtain the cooperation of the women themselves,’” the Eagle reported.
