It was a party in the parking lot.

The team at Almonte’s Food Dynasty, 1525 86th Street, once again thanked the community by throwing the store’s fifth annual “thank you” barbecue on Saturday, August 8.

Brooklynites and local dignitaries alike indulged in complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and more – all while also enjoying live music outside, paired with sales inside the supermarket.

“This barbecue was the biggest we’ve ever had in the past couple of years,” lauded Sandy Hachicho, an employee at Almonte’s Food Dynasty for the last four to five years.

According to Hachicho, it’s all about giving back.

“We do this every year just to tell our customers that we really appreciate their loyalty,” she said. “So many of them have been with us for so many years and it’s the perfect reason to say ‘thank you.’”

Among the local pols present for the party were two dedicated Food Dynasty shoppers: Assemblymember William Colton and District Leader Nancy Tong.
