Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 210th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1920, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Mushrooms in Connecticut, Too.”

The article focused on a Brooklyn man whose summer home in Connecticut was invaded by mushroom growth.

“Yesterday morning Mr. Parker was puzzled to observe a thick growth of strange plants all through his (plant beds),” the Eagle reported. “On closer inspection, he found the intruders to be mushrooms. He gathered a pan full for supper.”
