Two priests ordained bishops for the Brooklyn Diocese
Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of Brooklyn, ordained two new bishops – Reverend James Massa, 54, and Reverend Canon Witold Mroziewski, 49 – for the Church in Brooklyn and Queens at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Prospect Heights on Monday, July 20.
“Each of our two new auxiliary bishops brings special gifts to the office to which they have been called. Bishop Massa has spent most of his priestly life in the teaching ministry, while Bishop Witold Mroziewski also has given many years of his relatively young life to the service of the Diocese of Brooklyn, giving special attention to the Polish-speaking people of Brooklyn and Queens,” said DiMarzio. “Our new auxiliary bishops will join those who already labor in our diocese, accommodating the spiritual needs of our faithful through their ministry of preaching, administering of the sacraments and living their lives for others.”
