Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 201st day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1928, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Shower Brings Slight Relief to Wilting City in Five Day Heat Wave.”

The article focused on a heat wave with high levels of humidity that drove people out of the city.

“Two persons died of the heat yesterday and a dozen were prostrated,” the Eagle reported. “Today the temperature readings matched and exceeded those of the day before.”
