Suspect in child abduction seen driving into Brooklyn over Brooklyn Bridge

NYPD issued an Amber Alert Tuesday afternoon in the case of the abduction of a three-year-old girl by a suicidal man suffering from P.T.S.D. The abduction took place in Manhattan around noon on Tuesday. Cops suspect the kidnapper headed towards Brooklyn.

NYPD describes the suspect, Patrick Giblin, as a white male, approximately 50 years old with short, brown hair and green eyes. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 230 pounds. Giblin was last seen wearing a green shirt and blue jeans and a camouflage cap. 

The child is a white girl approximately 3 years old, who is believed to have down syndrome and is possibly related to the suspect.

Giblin’s vehicle has been identified as a Black SUV Dodge Durango with New York license plate number GDE4791. He was last seen traveling East on the Brooklyn Bridge, heading for unknown destination.

According to NYPD’s 23rd Precinct, Giblin left a mental health clinic at 345 East 102nd St. with the girl.

The Amber Alert is activated in the Bronx, Kings, New York, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond, Rockland and Westchester Counties.
