The Bay Ridge 86th Street Business Improvement District (BID) will soon become the home of an Apple Bank branch. Apple Bank announced that its newest branch will open at 426 86th St. on June 29.

The new full service branch, the 18th Apple Bank branch in Brooklyn, will officially open at 9 a.m.

Apple Bank also announced that Rosemary Vitale, a 10-year Apple Bank employee, will become the branch manager at the new Bay Ridge location. Vitale has been the branch manager at Apple’s Bensonhurst branch on 18th Avenue and 67th Street. She was recently promoted to vice president of the bank, and has been a branch manager at a number of different Apple locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island over the past four years.

Vitale grew up on Staten Island and graduated from Tottenville High School. She is a licensed life, accident and health insurance agent. She lives on Staten Island with her husband.

Vitale serves as the vice president of the Richmond County Bankers Association. She is also active in various community organizations in Brooklyn, including the Federation of Italian Americans and the Chinese-American Federation.

“Apple Bank is very pleased to now extend our branch network to the bustling Bay Ridge and 86th Street area where we can serve the banking needs of the community’s diverse ethnic population,” James Matera, executive vice president of Apple’s Consumer Banking Division, said in a statement. “Our bank has been providing essential banking services to New York’s neighborhoods for over 150 years with a community-focused, branch banking approach.”

The 86th Street BID is already home to a wide variety of shops including national retail chain stores like TJ Maxx, The Gap, and Victoria’s Secret, as well as Century 21 Department Store.

The BID is a public-private partnership in which property owners on 86th Street pay an added assessment to their city real estate taxes to pay for such amenities as supplemental sanitation services, private security for the street and decorative holiday lighting to attract more shoppers to the area and improve the economy. The BID includes all of the buildings and stores on 86th Street between Fourth Avenue and Dahlgren Place.

Apple Bank officials noted that their 86th Street branch is conveniently located near the R train and is close to numerous bus lines.

The branch’s regular business hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Established in 1863, Apple Bank provides consumer and small business banking services in greater New York through its branch network and online banking services. Apple is the second-largest state chartered savings bank in New York, with close to $12 billion in assets, according to bank officials. The bank has 78 branches located in the five boroughs, Long Island and Westchester.
