There’s promising news for fed-up residents of Bay 8th Street and Benson Avenue.

The derelict house in their midst has a new owner. Surely something will be done now about the mess and decay that have plagued the place for years.

Maria Raccuia, who owned the long-vacant eyesore at 85 Bay 8th St., sold it for $50,000 to Rubicon Acquisitions Inc. in mid-April, city Finance Department records indicate. The deed was recorded in May.

Last year, the vile-looking house drew the dire distinction of being nominated as one of Brooklyn’s Ugliest Buildings in an Eye on Real Estate feature.

The purchaser’s precise plans for the property are not yet a matter of public record. No demolition or renovation filings have surfaced in city Buildings Department records.

Deeds for Brooklyn and Bronx buildings that Rubicon Acquisitions Inc. has sold in the past year identify Gerard Marrone as a member of Rubicon, and its president.

Marrone is a criminal attorney whose office is in Middle Village, Queens, his website says.
