ON THIS DAY in 1914, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Say Wealthy Folk Got Cocaine Here.”

The article focused on two detectives finding a drug den.

“Detectives Asip and Down, of the Bergen Street station, made a raid at the two-story and basement brownstone house at 666 Degraw St. and arrested a man and a woman for selling and dealing in cocaine, heroin and opium,” the Eagle reported.
