Brooklyn Chamber announces 2015 Building Brooklyn Award winners
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce on Thursday announced the winners and honorees of the 2015 Building Brooklyn Awards, recognizing recently completed construction and renovation projects that improve the borough’s diverse neighborhoods and economy. Thirteen projects in various categories have been selected to receive awards in this year’s ceremony.
Now in its fifteenth year, the Building Brooklyn Awards will take place on July 21 at the newly restored Kings Theatre, winner of this year’s historic preservation award. The Chamber is honoring Andrew Kimball, CEO of Industry City and Purnima Kapur, executive director, NYC Department of City Planning for their career-long contributions to Brooklyn’s real estate and development industry.
“The borough of Brooklyn is truly an innovation hub, where builders and designers can put their craft to use and enhance the city that surrounds them,” said Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Carlo A. Scissura.
“We are honored to participate and play host to the celebration, and we are so grateful for the generous support of the Brooklyn Chamber and the entire community as the Kings made its return to Flatbush Avenue this year,” said Matthew Wolf, executive director of the Kings Theatre.
