Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Bojan Bogdanovic has been named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team, the league announced Monday.

Bogdanovic appeared in 78 games (28 starts) during his rookie season, averaging 9.0 points (sixth among qualifying rookies) on 45.3 percent shooting, including 35.5 percent from three-point range (first among qualifying rookies), and 2.7 rebounds in 23.8 minutes per game (seventh among qualifying rookies). The native of Croatia also finished fifth among all rookies in minutes played (1,854) and tied for second in three-pointers made while making the third-most starts among rookies on teams that earned playoff berths. He was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in April to round out the regular season. In the postseason, Bogdanovic appeared in all six of the Nets’ games in their first round series vs. Atlanta (five starts), averaging 10.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 34.3 minutes per game.

Bogdanovic scored in double figures 35 times, including six games of 20 or more points. He scored a career-high 28 points in the Nets’ final game of the regular season to lead Brooklyn to a victory over the Orlando Magic and help the team clinch its third consecutive postseason appearance on the final day of the season (April 15). Bogdanovic posted averages of 11.6 points per game on 51.3 percent shooting, including 42.9 percent from three-point range in 25.8 minutes per game in 27 games after the All-Star break. He also finished second in Nets’ rookie history in three-pointers made (91) and matched the Nets’ single-game rookie record for three-pointers made when he shot 6-of-6 from behind the arc on April 10 vs. Washington.
