The Brooklyn Hospital Center names new orthopaedics chief
World-Renowned Leader in Hip Replacement Joins Brooklyn Physician Team
The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) and interim President and CEO Jonathan Weld announced this week that Dr. Joseph Fetto has been named the hospital’s chief of orthopaedics. Prior to joining TBHC, Dr. Fetto was a clinical associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Langone Hospital.
“We are very proud to have Dr. Fetto join The Brooklyn Hospital Center,” said President and CEO Jonathan Weld. “Dr. Fetto is a pioneer in the field of orthopaedics, whose patients travel across the world to see him. His addition to our hospital adds to an award-winning team of physicians who have devoted their careers to keeping Brooklyn healthy.”
As an internationally recognized hip replacement specialist, Dr. Fetto developed the Lateral-Flare Internal Collar, a unique design for total hip femoral components that transformed the field by significantly improving the endurance of replaced hips.
