A nifty-looking old South Slope brick building that’s painted ghost-white is getting a residential makeover.

Last December, the city Buildings Department issued a permit to enlarge the three-story manufacturing building at 657-665 Fifth Ave. to five stories and build 30 apartments in it.

The managing member of the LLC that bought the property on the corner of 19th Street for $8.5 million in September 2013 is Chaskiel Strulovitch, city Finance Department records indicate.
