Between Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, April 7, the 72nd Precinct received reports of two robberies and two assaults. The 72nd Precinct serves Sunset Park, Greenwood Heights and South Park Slope.

UN-FARE!
Police say that a 40-year-old male Indian taxi driver got in a dispute over the fare with two male Hispanics in their early twenties on Saturday, April 4 at approximately 1:30 a.m. near Third Avenue and 27th Street. The suspects then punched the cab driver in the face, resulting in bloody nose and a fat lip.

The duo was arrested on assault charges.

STABBED IN THE FRONT
On Saturday, April 4 near Fourth Avenue and 55th Street at approximately 3:25 p.m., a 38-year old Hispanic man got into a dispute with a 30-year-old Hispanic man when one of them took out a knife and attempted to stab the other in the face. The victim blocked the attempt with his hand, causing lacerations to his arm and hand.

Cops arrested the knife-wielder and charged him with assault.

BLOODY SUNDAY

Cops say that a 32-year-old male Black was walking near Second Avenue and 54th Street on Sunday, April 5 at approximately 3 a.m. when two male perps, both Hispanic, approached him.

The two asked the victim what was in his pockets and where his money was before punching him in the face, stealing his cell phone and fleeing into a nearby building.

The victim called 911 on a payphone; one of the perps, a 36-year-old male Hispanic, was arrested and charged with robbery.

DANGEROUS LATE NIGHT STROLL

A 33-year-old Hispanic man was walking near Fifth Avenue and 45th Street on Sunday, April 5 at approximately 3:30 a.m. when a 22-year-old Hispanic man approached him and punched him in the face then reached in his pockets and stole $20. The alleged assailant then fled the area on foot.

Shortly after the incident, cops say, the suspect was arrested and charged with robbery.
