Animal ‘Adopt-A-Thon’ coming to Carroll Gardens

The Bark Avenue Adopt-A-Thon — a free educational event sponsored by Douglas Elliman and designed to save the lives of New York City’s shelter animals — will be held Sunday, April 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Carroll Park (on Court St. between Carroll and President streets). City Councilmember Brad Lander will kick off the event, during which canines will walk down a red carpet. Attendees are welcome to bring their own dogs. The event will include educational activities for children, an agility course with a trainer (Dogboy Inc.) for dogs and a raffle. Confirmed participants include Sean Casey Animal Rescue, Animal Care & Control of NYC, ASPCA, Second Chance Rescue NYC, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, Ready for Rescue and Motley Mutts.
