St. Francis point guard sets assists record in loss to Robert Morris
Brent Jones made St. Francis Brooklyn history early in the game when he became the school’s all-time assists leader, but it turned out to be bittersweet as Jones missed a shot at the buzzer and the Terriers lost 67-65 to Robert Morris in Brooklyn Heights on Saturday.
“Sometimes you make some, sometimes you miss them,” Jones said. “It’s part of basketball.”
Jones finished with 11 points and nine assists to give him 536 during his career on Remsen Street, a new record. After the game, he was frustrated as St. Francis led Robert Morris in total rebounds, had fewer turnovers and more blocks, but still lost.
