Mayor Bill de Blasio says New Yorkers should not be “caught off guard” as the storm delivers heavy snow and wind in a short period of time.
De Blasio said Monday that forecasters are currently calling for around 2 feet of snow in the New York City area.
He says the city is preparing for at least that much. He notes that past storms have shown that predicted conditions “can change at any time.”
No matter how much accumulates, he says, this storm is expected to “pack a real punch.”
