This past Sunday, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams was joined by civil rights attorney Norman Siegel to discuss the issue of advancing police-community relations, in response to recent citywide tension following widespread protests of policing practices and the assassinations of two NYPD officers.

The forum was open to members of the public interested in putting forth their concerns and proposals for recommendations. The community input is expected to be used to assist in the production of a report with the goal of advancing public safety citywide, as well as police and criminal justice reforms.

Adams moderated the discussion, which was the first in a series of traditional town halls and digital youth dialogues.
