Brooklyn-based artist William Villalongo’s works will be showcased from 6 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 29 at Cave Canem Foundation in DUMBO.

The event, Color Conversion: Special Works, will feature Villalongo’s mixed-media prints and paintings that “investigated the blurred space between history and myth,” according to Cave Canem’s website.

Additionally, Cave Canem fellows will read poems they contributed to “Cave Canem Anthology XIV: Poems 2010-2011,”that includes cover art by Villalongo.

Guests will receive complimentary loose-leaf samplers of poems from the collection among other opportunities.

Villalongo is a recipient of the Comfort Tiffany Award and a Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant.

The exhibition will be on display through March 19 and may be viewed by appointment, Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cave Canem is located at 20 Jay St., Suite 310-A.
