HISTORY OF NEW YORK

Those New Yorkers interested into the hustle and bustle of their own backyard can head down to the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Library (10 Grand Army Plaza) on Tuesday, December 2 where New York Time’s Sam Roberts will tell the vibrant story of America’s great metropolis through 101 distinct objects that span the history of New York.

From beads from the African Burial Ground in Lower Manhattan to automats, bagels and checker taxicabs, Roberts will discuss objects that embody the narrative of New York City in the library’s Dweck Center from 7 p.m. to 9p.m.

The free event will feature a discussion with Kevin Baker.
