Construction updates for various DUMBO residential developments

Progress, progress, progress, all over the place.
Construction work is moving forward nicely at DUMBO residential developments we’ve spotlighted in the past year, and a couple new ones as well.
Here’s the latest about several other developments in the photogenic waterfront neighborhood:
* Construction was just getting underway at Greystone Property Development’s 47 Bridge St. when we last looked at it. Now there’s a four-story frame for what will be a seven-story, 27-unit rental building. The other day there was a bird perched on a ladder at the site. Its song could be heard above the construction din.
* By the way, there’s also work going on at neighboring 53 Bridge St., which we’re giving a mention though it is not a residential project as far as we can tell. It was in the spotlight a few years ago when the Guttman family, its owner, was ordered to demolish floors that had been added to the top of the building that did not comply with zoning regulations.
The owner’s current plan is to convert 53 Bridge from manufacturing to commercial use, city Buildings Department filings indicate. “There are no p[r]oposed dwelling units,” one document notes.
* Jared Della Valle’s Alloy Development is moving full speed ahead with the DUMBO Townhouses at 55 Pearl St. The exterior walls are up, or a rudimentary version of them. We previously published eye-catching renderings of this five-unit project.
* It’s still early days at Alloy Development’s condo project with partner Monadnock Development in Brooklyn Bridge Park, 1 John St. When we stopped by the other day, bulldozers were parked on bare earth at the site. Sales are speedy, though. As of late September, one-third of the 42 apartments planned there were already in contract, Curbed.com reported.
* Shelly Listokin’s Urban Realty Partners has construction crews going full throttle on the residential makeover of landmarked 200 Water St. The landmarked former Brillo Manufacturing Co. building belonged to the Jehovah’s Witnesses before being sold to the developer.
Construction progress is easy to see on the back of the future condo building. The roof is gone, and the back wall looks like a hungry giant has taken huge bites out of it.
