Suspect charged with sexual assault of girls at Fort Hamilton
Queens resident Fausto Bonifaz, 39, has been indicted on charges of “coercing and enticing three minors to engage in sexual activity and sexually abusing minors.”
The three girls, aged 12 to 13 at the time, now several years ago, are daughters of a female coworker of Bonifaz’s who lived at the Fort Hamilton Army Base in Brooklyn. The alleged abuse came to light when one of the girls reported the abuse to a counselor. Bonifaz admitted, verbally and in a written statement to FBI agents, to abusing one of the alleged victims.
Bonifaz faces at least 10 years in prison if convicted.
