Good morning, Brooklyn.  Today is the 301st day of the year.

ON THIS DAY in 1907, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Brooklyn Flurry Over; Easy Day for the Bank.” The article focused on the end of a “flurry” as reported by an Eagle correspondent who visited “nearly a dozen” banks and trust companies.

“A remarkable change took place over Sunday in the Brooklyn bank and trust company situation,” the Eagle reported.  “Heads of banks, savings banks and trust companies declared to-day that they were of the opinion that conditions would become normal in the immediate future.”
