The Bark Avenue Adopt-A-Thon, an animal adoption event, is being held at Old Stone House & Washington Park in Park Slope on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 5 p.m.

This is a free and educational adoption event for the city’s shelters, dogs and cats.

The dogs up for adoption will walk down a red carpet — “Bark Avenue.” The event will include educational activities for children, an agility course with a trainer (Dogboy Inc.) for dogs, and a raffle.

The event’s speaker is Elizabeth Stein, Esq., a pro bono attorney for the Nonhuman Rights Project and Save Kitty Foundation.

Participating rescue groups include ASPCA, ACC of NYC, Sean Casey, Second Chance Rescue NYC, Ready for Rescue and Dogboy Inc. The dog sitters/walkers/dog obedience participants include Mobile Mutts and British Canine Academy; educational activities will be provided by Pillows for Paws and Humane Education Advocates Reaching Teachers.

The raffle will be provided by Paws in Paradise and Park Slope Veterinary Center will be on hand at an “Ask the Vet” table.
