Councilmember Vincent Gentile announced on Friday he has expanded his office hours.

Starting on Oct. 8, Gentile’s office at 8018 Fifth Ave. will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Gentile (D-Bay Ridge-Dyker Heights-Bensonhurst) said he made the decision to have night hours because he understands that not everyone can stop by his office during the day.

“My goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to visit me and my staff so we can help you. Now, with my new late night Wednesday hours, you can come home from work and still be able to visit my office in person with your questions and concerns,” Gentile said.

“My job is to be your voice at City Hall and that is why it is so important that I hear from you. My office is your office and my door is always open to you,” Gentile said in a message to his constituents. Gentile, who has been on the council since 2003, has the longest term of service of any current council member.

Gentile and his staff moved into the Fifth Avenue office last month, after working for many years out of an office on Third Avenue. On Sept. 20, Gentile hosted an open house at his new office, welcoming constituents as well as city officials like Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Comptroller Scott Stringer, Borough President Eric Adams, Assemblymember Felix Ortiz (D-Sunset Park-Bay Ridge) and Assemblymember Peter Abbate (D-Bensonhurst-Sunset Park).

Constituents who can’t visit the office during the week can go to Gentile’s “satellite office” at the Bay Ridge Greenmarket in the parking lot of Walgreens at 9408 Third Ave., every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of November. Gentile has a table in the Greenmarket.
