Brooklyn Today
Good morning, Brooklyn. Today is the 275th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY in 1911, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Rear-Admiral Schley Stricken in Street; He Dies Immediately.” The article focused on a naval officer who passed away. “Rear Admiral Winfield Scott Schley dropped dead shortly after 1 o’clock today near the corner of 44th Street and Fifth Avenue, Manhattan,” the Eagle reported. “The Admiral died before medical aid could reach him.”
