Bed-Stuy Alive! will consist of an opening ceremony, featuring the Tohma Y. Faulkner Community Trailblazer Awards. The Honorable Annette M. Robinson will receive the Community Champion Award and renowned artist and filmmaker Spike Lee will be presented with the Arts and Culture Award.

Participants can take part in the activities offered in the Bed-Stuy Food and Family Day section near Brooklyn Avenue. Features include the Foodtown tour, cooking demonstrations, a farmer’s market, zumba and African dance.  The Bed-Stuy Bazaar will showcase local craftspeople and retail merchants,  while the Children’s Village will have activities for children and their families, with an emphasis on reading resources.

The Feast Bed-Stuy Food Court will offer a bounty of food from local chefs, restaurants and cafes, and artists Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick will perform.
