Saint Patrick’s Catholic Academy at 97th Street and Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge joined the likes of the New York City Freedom Tower, the Coney Island Parachute Jump and Brooklyn Borough Hall in “going gold” for kids with childhood cancer.

The school tied gold ribbons around its surrounding fences in support of Go Gold Bay Ridge, an initiative by Bay Ridge Cares that rides on the coat-tails of The Gold World Project, sponsored by New Hampshire Native Tony Stoddard to raise awareness for childhood cancer.

Stoddard lost his son Cole to Neuroblastoma at the age of five.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
