Lilikakis secures candidacy in 46th A.D. race
Just past 10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, Bay Ridge native Stamatis Lilikakis declared victory in the Republican Party primary in the 46th Assembly District over Lucretia Regina-Potter, winning the only Republican Party primary in the borough.
According to unofficial results from New York City Board of Elections, Lilikakis – who will square off against Democratic candidate and incumbent Alec Brook-Krasny this November – received 540 votes (58.5 percent) while Regina-Potter received 383 (41.5 percent).
“I want to thank each and every one of you, because without your help, this could have never happened,” said a humbled Lilikakis to his campaign officer full of supporters who included State Senator Marty Golden and Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis. “We can change the state. Together, we can fight for New York once again, and we can get it back to what it once was. The people are still here and we can do it again.”
