Ending the summer on a high note, on Saturday, August 30, Almonte’s Food Dynasty once again gave back to its customers and the community by hosting its annual barbecue.

Brooklynites and local dignitaries, such as State Senator Marty Golden, Congressmember Michael Grimm and Assemblymember William Colton were in attendance to enjoy food, drink, music, t-shirt giveaways and sales inside the supermarket.

“What a great event. What a great crowd,” said Golden. “It’s so nice to see community and business supporting each other. That says a lot about this community and I look forward to future appreciation celebrations.”

This year’s celebration marked the fourth time the neighborhood has been treated by Food Dynasty and owner Frank Almonte to free food and festivities. New Generation Music provided the DJ.

A sizable crowd gathered at the parking lot of the popular market, at 1525 86th Street. The food served included hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni and potato salads, fruit and ice cream.
