They’re waiting for the other shoe to drop in LICH-Land.

LICH-Land is Eye on Real Estate’s name for Cobble Hill — largely landmarked, small-scale, utterly charming Cobble Hill, the home of Long Island College Hospital, which is closed now except for a walk-in emergency department.

When the campus of storied, 150-plus-year-old LICH changes hands in a few months, purchaser Fortis Property Group is expected to start work on massive apartment construction, bringing big changes to the Cobble Hill real estate market.

Before Fortis’ deal closes and LICH-Land’s transformation begins, we’re taking a long look at what the neighborhood is like now. This will help us remember later.
