Suspect wanted for strangling elderly woman

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man in his 20s wanted in connection with an assault that occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 30 in the confines of the 66th Precinct.

The suspect allegedly approached an 88-year-old woman as she sat on the stoop in front of her residence. As she stood up and entered her home, the suspect allegedly threw her to the ground, physically assaulted her, removed his red hoodie sweatshirt and attempted to strangle her with it.

The suspect – described as being 5’5” and weighing 140 pounds – then fled the location on foot. The victim was transported to Maimonides Hospital in stable condition.
