Joli Salon, in the hair business since 2008, is the little salon that could.

Originally located on 77th Street, and then 82nd Street, Joli Salon – owned and operated by artistic hairstylist Jouliana Naoum-Hachicho – has settled into 7520 Fifth Avenue and Jouliana is hoping that the third time’s the charm.

“I’ve always wanted to own my own salon,” said Jouliana, an independent stylist who has worked in professional hair salons across New York for over a decade and has been serving the Bay Ridge community for years. “The great thing is that my clients keep coming back.”

With high quality haircare and affordable prices, it’s no surprise Jouliana’s clients have followed her from storefront to storefront and now, she says, her brand new spot between 75th and 76th Streets will have clients feeling like they’re right at home.

“It’s small, but it’s personal,” she said. “This is a very homey environment.”

Sticking to the same prices after all these years, Jouliana said that, many times, women will come to Joli’s Salon looking to unload and kick back after a long day – sometimes with their children in tow. “They feel comfortable here,” she said, stressing that quality customer service is what’s kept the salon up and running for over five years.

That, and its extensive services.

From styling and coloring to treatments and makeup, Jouliana does it all.

“We do color correction, highlights, ombre, up-dos, keratin, makeup and bridal deals,” said Jouliana of her most popular services, ranging from $45-50 for a cut and style to just $75-120 for formal styling and – her personal favorite — up-dos.

“I love up-dos,” she raved. “They allow me to use my imagination and really get creative.”

That creativity – and comfort – is what keeps her clients coming back.

“I can’t thank my clients enough,” she said. “It’s because of them, and it’s because of my location in Bay Ridge, that I’m here again. Fifth Avenue is always changing, but there are always so many people with so many stories to tell.”

With doors open five days a week – with the sixth saved for special occasions – those stories are shared with Jouliana in the salon chair.

“I really love what I do,” she said, “and I’m so happy to share it with Fifth Avenue.”
