One apprehended, one at large in vicious Midwood robbery and beating

One arrest has been made while another suspect remains at large in the case of two suspects who assaulted a young woman in an apartment building in the vicinity of Avenue M and East 18th Street in Midwood Sunday.

The two suspects are described as a black male, 20-25 years old, wearing a black tee shirt and multi-colored pants, and a second black male, late teens to early 20’s, approximately 240 pounds, wearing an orange t-shirt, beige shorts and a backpack.

Surveillance footage of the incident has been made available.

“I commend the NYPD for the arrest of one of the suspects in the brutal assault that took place this Sunday in Midwood,” said Councilmember Chaim Deutsch. “Under the command of Inspector Richard DiBlasio, the 70th precinct worked swiftly and diligently to apprehend one of the perpetrators of this despicable crime. I am confident that another arrest is forthcoming. I thank the hardworking officers who continue to keep our streets safe and our children protected.“
