Plans to update Macy’s presence in Downtown Brooklyn may include the possibility of selling the 422 Fulton Street store and rebuilding a new one next door in what is currently the Macy’s-owned parking lot at 1-31 Hoyt Street.

According to Women’s Wear Daily Macy’s is already undergoing a four-year, $400 million renovation to its flagship 34th Street store, which will reopen in 2015 with a new façade, new marble and an additional 100,000-square-feet of space that will allow for more brands and “a luxury component that we didn’t have before,” CEO Terry Lundgren said to the New York Times.
