Macys may scrap and rebuild Downtown Brooklyn store
Plans to update Macys presence in Downtown Brooklyn may include the possibility of selling the 422 Fulton Street store and rebuilding a new one next door in what is currently the Macys-owned parking lot at 1-31 Hoyt Street.
According to Womens Wear Daily Macys is already undergoing a four-year, $400 million renovation to its flagship 34th Street store, which will reopen in 2015 with a new façade, new marble and an additional 100,000-square-feet of space that will allow for more brands and a luxury component that we didnt have before, CEO Terry Lundgren said to the New York Times.
