Brooklyn pols seek state investigations into LICH sale
A group of Brooklyn politicians is appealing to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to investigate the sale of Long Island College Hospital property by SUNY to Fortis Property Group.
The officials State Senator Daniel Squadron, Assemblymember Joan Millman, and Councilmembers Brad Lander, Stephen Levin and Carlos Menchaca — are specifically interested in reviewing the final bid, contracts and selection process. In their letters, they question the impartiality of scoring and transparency of negotiations, which saw SUNY dismiss the top two bid scorers, Brooklyn Health Partners and Peebles Corp., in favor of Fortis, which had been the lead bidder prior to the RFP scoring process.Leave a Comment
