The NBA today introduced the logo for NBA All-Star 2015 in New York City. Inspired by the design of the iconic public transportation signs that adorn many corners of America’s largest city, the logo includes colors reminiscent of the subway and bus lines that connect each of the five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.

The logo design pays tribute to the two host teams, the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks. The teams’ abbreviations, “BKN” and “NYK,” appear above circles bearing the teams’ respective colors and the year “2015.”

For the fifth time, New York City – a metropolis steeped in basketball tradition – will host the All-Star Game, with Friday and Saturday nights’ festivities originating from Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Sunday’s All-Star Game taking place at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. As part of NBA All-Star 2015, the NBA and its partners will host a variety of community, grassroots and fan events throughout the city’s five boroughs.
