Seniors in Coney Island unveil artwork to rebuild after Sandy
Senior artists at the JASA Scheuer House of Coney Island Senior Center unveiled a new mural composed of ceramic tiles, symbolizing the reconstruction of the a community devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The mural was created by JASA seniors who are also members of the NYC Department of Aging’s SPARC Program (Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide), a community arts engagement program that places artists-in-residence at senior centers across the five boroughs of New York City.
