Popular, traditional treasure Queen Restaurant is BCC milestone member under Scissura
Last week the popular Queen Restaurant, founded in 1958 by the late chef Anthony Vitiello, was honored as the 1,000th new member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce under its President and CEO, Carlo Scissura.
“This is a milestone,” said Scissura, “because Queen is an institution, a traditional second generation business that recognizes how the Chamber of Commerce is leading Brooklyn businesses into the 21st century.”
In a celebratory luncheon hosted by the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Chef Pasquino Vitiello was presented with a plaque by Scissura and Citibank executive Denise Arbesu, who serves as chair of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Also attending the luncheon were the Chamber’s Rick Russo, senior VP and chief-of-staff and Joseph Shaia, VP for member services.
Queen has a reputation for quality that can best be summed up by one phrase: the owners are chefs, and they’re always in the kitchen. Vitiello brothers Pasquino and Vincent inherited the popular restaurant from their father and continued a fine tradition of high quality food and service. With tablecloth service and all that implies, Queen works hard to make the dining experience special.
“It is very gratifying,” said Pasquino, “to be the venue for people’s happy moments together.”
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is the foremost resource for doing business in Brooklyn, respected as a leader in advancing public policy, new technologies, products, services and programs that support and promote a vibrant local economy.
