Mark your calendars for June 15 because NYCRUNS will be having its inaugural Fathers’ Day Half Marathon run for the dads and their loved ones who enjoy running.

The cost is $50 to participate; NYCRUNS members receive a five percent discount, race deferral rights and other perks. Prior to the race, runners must pick up either a pre-race packet on Friday, June 13 at NYCRUNS’ office at 223 Jay St., #102 from 4 to 8 p.m. or pick up a race day packet the day of the race at 7 a.m.

The race will start at 8 a.m. at the 69th Street Veterans Memorial Pier, at Shore Road and 69th Street, and finish at the same location. The 13-mile journey will have a three hour time limit.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners overall and also the three male and female finishers in each 10-year age group.

In addition, all finishers will receive a medal, as well as a techie shirt and the usual NYCRUNS post-race spread at the finish line. Bag check and toilets will be provided along with water and Gatorade available on the course.

NYCRUNS strongly encourages participants and supporters to use mass transit. For more information, contact [email protected].
