EAST NEW YORK — Political leaders and anti-violence advocates in East New York are offering a monetary award for information leading to the apprehension of a suspect in Sunday’s fatal stabbing incident at the Boulevard Houses that claimed six-year-old Prince Joshua Avitto and left seven-year-old Mikayla Capers in critical condition. Speaking from the headquarters of Man Up!, a local anti-violence and social service agency, Borough President Adams offered a $5,000 monetary award while urging caution for area parents amidst a pattern of similar attacks. Just two days earlier in the same neighborhood, 18-year-old Tanaya Grant Copeland was fatally stabbed. Adams also addressed the recent rise of gun violence, as seen across Brooklyn and the city over the weekend.
