Political leaders and anti-violence advocates in East New York are offering a monetary award for information leading to the apprehension of a suspect in Sunday’s fatal stabbing incident at the Boulevard Houses that claimed six-year-old Prince Joshua Avitto and left seven-year-old Mikayla Capers in critical condition.

Speaking from the headquarters of Man Up!, a local anti-violence and social service agency, Borough President Adams offered a $5,000 monetary award while urging caution for area parents amidst a pattern of similar attacks. Just two days earlier in the same neighborhood, 18-year-old Tanaya Grant Copeland was fatally stabbed.

Adams also addressed the recent rise of gun violence, as seen across Brooklyn and the city over the weekend.

Any tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or via their online form.
