For National Poetry Month the Brooklyn Heights Branch Library is presenting Inspiring Readings and Commentary on Climate Crisis from Eco-Poetry.org, with readings of poems by Rumi, Pablo Neruda, Ernesto Cardenal, Allen Ginsberg, Ishmael Reed, Marge Piercy, and Wendell Berry — presented by award winning poet and Brooklyn Heights resident Daniela Gioseffi, and premier Latina poet of New York City, Nancy Mercado. Daniela Gioseffi has won the American Book Award, PEN Fiction Award and writes ecological poetry. She’s authored sixteen books and also edits www.PoetsUSA.com. Award winning poet Nancy Mercado recently appeared on the PBS News Hour. 
Light refreshments will be served, and following the reading the authors will be available to autograph their books.
 
These author talks are organized and underwritten by the Friends of the Brooklyn Heights Branch Library, Inc. with ongoing support from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
This free event takes place Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 6:15 p.m. at 280 Cadman Plaza West, between Pierrepont and Tillary streets.
