Councilmember Brad Lander  is hosting a Vision Zero Town Hall and workshop on Monday, April 21, from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at P.S. 321, 180 7th Ave. in Park Slope Brooklyn.

Vision Zero is Mayor Bill de Blasio’s multi-faceted plan to reduce or eliminate traffic deaths through stronger law enforcement, lower speed limits, street design changes, and campaigns to change driver and pedestrian behavior.

In New York, approximately 4,000 New Yorkers are seriously injured and more than 250 are killed each year in traffic crashes. On average, vehicles seriously injure or kill a New Yorker every two hours.

Other Vision Zero Town Halls in Brooklyn this month will be held at Plymouth Church (Hillis Hall), 75 Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights on April 24, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.; and at Brooklyn College, Student Center, second floor, at Campus Road and East 27th Street, Brooklyn, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
