Green roof to take root at Barclays Center
Joint Atlantic Yards development inches forward
The logo-inscribed roof of Barclays Center in Brooklyn will soon be covered in green.
Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC) and Shanghai-based Greenland Group Co. said on Tuesday that they will install a “green roof,” planted with hardy sedum, a type of succulent, on top of the Prospect Heights arena.
The roof will complement the sloping transit entrance, also planted with sedum, a plant frequently used in green-style plantings due to its insulating and drought-resistant qualities.
