One home is not enough for Danny Meyer’s fabled fries, freshly-ground beef burgers and frozen custard.

Construction has started at Brooklyn’s second and third Shake Shack locations – so eventually, the Fulton Mall won’t be the only place in the borough to eat Meyer’s addictive comfort food.

The other day, we eyeballed the work in progress at 170 Flatbush Ave. in Park Slope, which is right across the street from Barclays Center. An aging sidewalk shed had been removed, and construction crews visible through open doors were busy putting up metal frames for walls.

Workers were also busy at 1 Old Fulton St., across from Brooklyn Bridge Park. At that Shake Shack site, located in the Fulton Ferry Historic District, bright flashes of light seen through an open door suggested that welding or some other useful activity was underway.

Work had been expected to start last fall at the Flatbush Avenue location, but it didn’t. Back then, a company spokesman said it was hoped that both locations would be ready to open in late spring.

Will they? It appears there’s still a lot to be done at both sites. The Shake Shack spokesman didn’t respond to a request for comment by deadline.
