The coolest commercial building in East Williamsburg – at 571 Lorimer St. – has an Airstream trailer built into it. It houses Zona Rosa, a Mexican restaurant that opened last July.

The 1940s-vintage Airstream – which Zona Rosa workers use as a kitchen – belonged to now-defunct 3rd Ward. The art-facility operator used the classic aluminum trailer as a food truck, complete with a wine and beer license.

Ivan Garcia, the chef from a popular Williamsburg restaurant, Mesa Coyoacan, and his two business partners from there own Zona Rosa – which has outdoor seating on its second floor.
