One of the Brooklyn Bar Association’s most popular events, Judiciary Night, will take place April 2, 6 p.m. at BBA Headquarters, we’re informed by President Andrew Fallek.

BBA members will be there in significant numbers for a cocktail party reception, which will be attended by scores of jurists from the New York State and New York City Judiciary. His invitation leaves little doubt, as those invited adding they are all members of the bench “who have been elected, re-elected, appointed and reappointed.”

Assisting Fallek in hosting this collegial evening are President-Elect Rebecca Woodland, First Vice President Arthur Aidala, Second Vice President Hon. Frank Seddio, Secretary Aimee Richter and Treasurer Dave Chidekel. The invaluable Avery Okin is executive director.

President Fallek is looking forward to another special celebration when the BBA sponsors the Second Annual Hon. Theodore Jones Memorial Golf Outing.  Before going to the Appellate Division, the Hon. Jones served as a highly respected Kings County administrative justice.

The outing is scheduled to take place Monday, April 28 at the Colonia Country Club, where the late Justice Jones and friends enjoyed many a day on the links.

Pro Bono Barrister: Brooklyn Bar CLE program focuses on ‘Mandated Mediation’

“Court Mandated Mediation” will be front and center on March 31, when an expert panel tackles its challenges at the Brooklyn Bar Association, 123 Remsen St. starting at 6 p.m.

According to BBA CLE Director Meredith Symonds, the program “ will incorporate the proceedings and functions of various Court sponsored mediation programs, in both the State & Federal Court. This program is for both practitioners & mediators. It is sponsored by the BBAs ADR Committee with  Hon. Elizabeth Bonina and Steven Harkavy, Esq. serving as co-chairs.”
